The ASCF Prequalification Program allows Arctic Slope Community Foundation to disseminate funds into the eight Arctic Slope communities in an efficient and expeditious manner.
The organizations eligible for this program are as follows:
- Tribal Government
- Local Governments
- Public Educational Institutions (Schools)
- IRS Designated 501(c)3 Organizations
Qualification for this program is also limited to the geographical limits of the North Slope Borough.
The only documents required for this prequalification program are:
- Two (2) Years of Financial Statements
- Charitable Designation Documents
Funding for this grant is limited to projects and programs directly benefitting one or more communities in the Arctic Slope region of Alaska.
Funding for this grant is limited to projects and programs directly benefitting the community of Anaktuvuk Pass, Alaska.
Funding for this grant is limited to projects and programs directly benefitting the community of Atqasuk, Alaska.
Funding for this grant is limited to projects and programs directly benefitting the community of Kaktovik, Alaska.
Funding for this grant is limited to projects and programs directly benefitting the community of Nuiqsut, Alaska.
Funding for this grant is limited to projects and programs directly benefitting the community of Point Hope, Alaska.
Funding for this grant is limited to projects and programs directly benefitting the community of Point Lay, Alaska.

New for 2023 is ASCF’s Success for Non-Profit Audit Preparation program. A successful audit is critical for achieving your organization’s mission and thoughtful preparation is the key to that success. This program is available for any organization within the Arctic Slope region eligible under ASCF grant programs (i.e.: non-profit, church, City, or Tribal organization).
Once accepted into ASCF’s Success for Non-Profit Audit Preparation program your organization will have access to a certified public accountant (CPA), who will travel onsite to assist with audit preparation. Depending on the level of need, the CPA will spend 5-10 days assisting your organization with identifying internal processes critical for successful financial management and working to implement the necessary changes.
SERVICES PROVIDED:
- Review records and internal controls to assess audit readiness
- Coordinate completion of audit work papers
- Review audit reports and present them to finance, management, and leadership (tribal/city council, board of directors)
- Review audit findings and provide solutions to eliminate them
- Work with the organization to understand current Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
ELIGIBILITY:
Applicants must fit into one of the following categories:
- 501(c)(3) organization
- Church
- Local government entity
- Federally recognized tribe
The applicant's principal address must be within the Arctic Slope (North Slope Borough) area.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
- Federally recognized tribes provide a copy of the Federal Register indicating tribal status. This can be obtained from the Federal Register
- Local governments provide a copy of your government charter
- IRS designated 501(c)3 charitable organizations provide the IRS charitable designation documents.
